English Fest

Cost:
Grades 4-6: $35 (includes set of 4 books, registration and bus fees)
Grades 7-8: $45 (includes set of 6 books, registration and bus fees)
Requirements: Students in Grades 4-8 must read assigned books as part of the reading curriculum in order to participate on the day of the festival.
Description: The Western PA Council of English Teachers has organized this event to promote quality reading among the students. The goal of the festival is to communicate to students the value of literature in the enrichment of their lives. The students read the assigned books and work with a team to compete against other students in a competition.
Grades 4-6 attend the Junior English Fest in May at Seton-LaSalle High School, Pittsburgh. They compete in the following team activities: Trivia, Card Games and Insights.
Grades 7-8 attend English Fest in May at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. They compete in the following team activities: Trivia, Super Trivia, Talk Show and Insights.
