Financial Aid
At St. Sebastian Regional Catholic School, we attempt to make a Catholic education available for everyone. We offer financial aid and assistance in several different forms. To be eligible for any type of financial aid, your family must use FACTS Tuition Management System. Applications are available in the school office or on the FACTS Web site.
Financial aid for Catholic school students in the Diocese of Greensburg comes from a variety of sources, including an assessment on parish income, school and diocesan endowments, and the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Additional aid may also be available as a result of local school fundraising and development activities.
The Diocese of Greensburg has several funds exclusively designated for Catholic school financial aid. Award eligibility is based on data collected through FACTS.
Parish-Supported Financial Aid Fund
A significant amount of financial aid is available as a result of the generosity of the parishioners from the 85 parishes located in the four counties of the Diocese of Greensburg. These funds have been entrusted to the parishes for the sacred works of the Catholic church. Therefore, a portion of parish income is earmarked for Catholic school financial aid to ensure that Catholic schools remain affordable to all families who choose a Catholic education.
Diocesan Endowment Funds
St. Gerard Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund
Funded by a $1.5 million donation from a local family committed to supporting Catholic school education, interest from this fund provides a perpetual source of financial aid.
Diocesan Tuition Assistance Endowment
Funded by $2.0 million in gifts through the diocesan Honoring our Past…Shaping our Future campaign (as well as individual, business and foundation gifts) interest from this fund provides a perpetual source of financial aid.
Scholarship Partners Foundation
This foundation was established by the Diocese of Greensburg to take advantage of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Businesses and corporations can earn Pennsylvania state tax credits by providing a contribution to the Scholarship Partners Foundation, which is used to provide financial aid to qualified families. Contributions may be designated for use at a specific school or any diocesan school where there is need. For information, visit EITC.
Organizations such as Bridge Educational Foundation and Bravo Foundation are other EITC-approved organizations with their own eligibility requirements that can make financial aid gifts to schools.
Schools have the option of listing these amounts when calculating their overall financial aid picture. Parents must apply for these funds through applications supplied by the individual foundations.
School Financial Aid
Many schools have successful development and fundraising programs that can be a significant source of financial aid for families at the local school level. Aid allocated at this level is made with family need foremost in mind. At St. Sebastian Regional Catholic School, we offer a number of programs to reduce your tuition responsibility for the following school year such as: SCRIP, SchoolPop and Market Day. Many families have already received up to $1,000 off tuition for the upcoming school year. Contact us for more information.
